Para ilmuwan bahkan telah menentukan bahwa lidah adalah, pon demi pon, otot terkuat di tubuh Anda meskipun hanya itu otot yang menempel di salah satu ujungnya.

Lidah manusia juga telah terdaftar dalam rekor dunia. Lidah manusia terpanjang yang pernah tercatat adalah 3,86 inci dari ujung ke belakang. Berlawanan dengan “old wives’ tales /dongeng istri tua”, wanita memiliki lidah yang lebih pendek daripada pria.

Thomas Blackstone memegang rekor memiliki lidah terkuat; dia benar-benar mengangkat beban seberat 24 pon, 3 ons dengan lidahnya.

Menurut Akademi Rekor Dunia, Fran Capo adalah wanita yang berbicara cepat di dunia dia mencatat 603 kata dalam 54 detik. Itu berarti 11 kata per detik! Dia pertama kali memecahkan rekor dunia di acara Larry King Live pada tahun 1986 ketika dia berbicara 585 kata per menit.

Pepatah mendorong kita bahwa dia “yang menahan bibirnya adalah bijaksana.” Jagalah lidah Anda. Bukan jumlah kata yang Anda ucapkan yang menunjukkan kecerdasan Anda; itu adalah kepedulian yang Anda pilih.
