[AkhirZaman.org] Setelah bersitegang dengan Kim Jong-un selama setahun belakangan, Donald Trump akhirnya membuka kemungkinan Amerika Serikat untuk berbicara dengan Korea Utara.
“Presiden Trump terbuka untuk melakukan pembicaraan antara Amerika Serikat dengan Korea Utara pada waktu dan situasi yang tepat,” ujar juru bicara Gedung Putih, Sarah Sanders, Rabu (10/1).
Sanders mengatakan, kemungkinan itu disampaikan langsung oleh Trump saat berbicara dengan Presiden Moon Jae-in, tak lama setelah Korea Selatan dan Korut menggelar perundingan tingkat tinggi pada Selasa (9/1).
Dengan agenda utama membahas keikutsertaan Korut dalam Olimpiade Musim Dingin, pertemuan ini dianggap sebagai simbol perbaikan hubungan antara Seoul dan Pyongyang yang memanas akibat isu rudal dan nuklir sepanjang tahun lalu.
Meski melembutkan sikapnya terhadap Korsel, Korut tetap menegaskan bahwa mereka siap menyerang AS jika terus terancam. Korsel sendiri dikenal sebagai sekutu AS.
Moon bahkan mengatakan bahwa perundingan tingkat tinggi antara Korsel dan Korut dapat terselenggara berkat andil besar Trump.
Dalam pembicaraan dengan Trump, Moon pun kembali menegaskan bahwa Korsel mendukung AS untuk tetap menekan Korut agar menghentikan program senjata rudal dan nuklirnya.
Pembicaraan selama 30 menit itu ditutup dengan komitmen kedua pemimpin negara untuk memperkuat kerja sama antara Korsel dan AS.
Sanders mengatakan, Trump dan Moon berharap dialog antar-Korea ini dapat bermuara pada kemungkinan perundingan antara AS dan Korut demi mencapai upaya denuklirisasi.
“Saya harap Anda memberi tahu mereka bahwa tidak akan tindakan militer selama pembicaraan antar-Korea berlangsung,” ujar Trump, sebagaimana tercantum dalam keterangan resmi pemerintah Korsel.
Meski demikian, Pyongyang sudah menegaskan bahwa mereka tidak akan membicarakan isu nuklir dengan Seoul karena senjata yang sedang mereka kembangkan itu bukan untuk menyerang Korsel, Rusia, mau pun China, tapi AS.

Pada tahun lalu semua mata dunia terarah pada memanasnya persiapan perang antara Amerika serikat sebagai negara Adikuasa dan Korea Utara serta persiapan senjata nuklir. Namun seperti harapan banyak negara agar tidak terjadinya letupan senjata yang tentu saja akan mengorbankan banyak jiwa manusia dari kedua belah pihak yang tidak sedikit, bahkan kelaparan dan serta timbulnya wabah penyakit. Semoga kedamaian segera terwujud.
