[AkhirZaman.org] Pada tahun 2005, pasien kanker Georgia Hayes memenangkan putusan 2,2 miliar dolar dalam gugatan terhadap mantan apotekernya, Robert R. Courtney.

Kejahatannya: mengencerkan obat kemoterapi dengan air. Dia melakukan ini untuk meraup keuntungan dari menjual lebih banyak obat mahal kepada pasien lain, tetapi sementara itu korbannya kehilangan kesempatan terbaiknya untuk sembuh karena dia tidak dirawat dengan benar.

Apoteker tersebut mengaku mengencerkan obat selama lebih dari satu dekade, memengaruhi sebanyak 4.200 pasien! Ayah lima anak berusia 48 tahun itu sekarang menjalani hukuman 30 tahun penjara!

Ini bukan kasus yang tersembunyi. Sayangnya, pemalsuan obat telah menjadi masalah yang meningkat di masyarakat kita.

Food and Drug Administration memeriksa rata-rata lima kasus setahun yang lalu di tahun 1990-an, tetapi sekarang ada lebih dari 20 penyelidikan dalam setahun. Dengan teknologi yang lebih canggih, para pemalsu terkadang berhasil memasukkan obat palsu ke dalam sistem.

Misalnya, Procrit, yang melawan anemia dan kelelahan pada pasien kanker dan AIDS, dipalsukan pada tahun 2002. Salah satu bentuk Injil yang diencerkan mengatakan tidak apa-apa untuk terus berbuat dosa, karena Tuhan selalu mengampuni orang berdosa.

Paulus membahas argumen ini dengan mengatakan, “Haruskah kita bertekun dalam dosa sehingga kasih karunia bisa melimpah? Tentu tidak! Bagaimana kita yang telah mati bagi dosa bisa hidup lebih lama lagi di dalamnya? ” (Roma 6:1,2 KJV).

Dan Kristus berkata, “Jika kamu mengasihi Aku, menuruti perintah-Ku” (Yohanes 14:15).

Injil Kristus yang sejati dan murni adalah panggilan untuk kepatuhan dan pemuridan.
