[AkhirZaman.org] Kadangkala Tuhan mengijinkan suatu hal yang buruk terjadi dalam kehidupan kita. Mungkin saja kita kehilangan orang-orang yang kita kasihi, mengalami kegagalan dalam usaha kita, atau hal-hal lain yang tampaknya buruk. Seringkali kita terbenam dalam kesedihan dan keterpurukan kita, lupa bahwa Tuhan masih memimpin langkah kita. Satu hal yang harus kita ingat, bahwa Tuhan selalu ada bersama kita. Dia akan selalu berada di samping kita, menopang, menghibur, dan menuntun kita untuk keluar dari permasalahan kita. Dengan berserah kepadaNya, dan percaya bahwa Dia tahu yang terbaik bagi kehidupan kita, suatu hari nanti kita akan mengerti bahwa badai yang kita alami tersebut sesungguhnya merupakan keuntungan, gantinya kerugian, bagi kehidupan kita. Kita akan  sampai pada titik dimana kita sesungguhnya dapat berterima kasih kepada Tuhan atas kekecewaan-kekecewaan kita karena kita mengenal pemeliharaanNya yang mengagumkan: yaitu Dia yang merubah “penderitaan ringan” menjadi kemuliaan abadi.

Dengan mengambil contoh dari alam sekitar dan menggunakan imajinasinya, C.H. Spurgeon mengilustrasikan kebenaran ini. Dia menulis: “Bayangkanlah sebuah tanaman kecil yang kerdil, yang tumbuh di bawah pohon yang rimbun dan menjalar luas. Tanaman kecil tersebut sangat menyukai tempat tenang yang diberikan oleh pohon tersebut. Pada suatu hari, seorang penebang kayu dengan kapaknya yang tajam menebang pohon yang besar tersebut. Tanaman kerdil itu menangis dan menjerit, “perlindunganku pergi. Angin yang keras akan meniup aku.” “Tidak,” kata malaikat bunga. “Sekarang matahari akan bersinar ke atasmu, sekarang pancuran air hujan akan menyirammu, dan bungamu yang tidka pernah mekar, sekarang akan mekar, sekarang akan tertawa riang di kehangatan sinar matahari.”

Sebagai anak-anak Tuhan, kita boleh percaya bahwa apa saja yang dilakukan bagi kita, apa saja yang Dia ijinkan terjadi pada kita, atau apa saja yang Dia ambil dari kita adalah demi kebaikan kita. Jika kita menerima kebenaran ini, kita daoat mulai bersukacita dalam kekuatan, kebijakasanaan dan pemeliharaan yang baik dan penuh kasih dari Tuhan. Tidak peduli apa pun yang kita hadapi hari ini, baik itu berkat maupun pencobaan, kita mempunyai jaminan bahwa dalam segala hal TUhan bekerja untuk memenuhi rencanaNya yang indah dalam hidup kita.

Kita tahu sekarang, bahwa Allah turut bekerja dalam segala sesuatu untuk mendatangkan kebaikan bagi mereka yang mengasihi Dia, yaitu bagi mereka yang terpanggil sesuai dengan rencana Allah.
