Komunitas kesejahteraan hewan mengidentifikasi kuda itu sebagai Helen Llinaritx dan mengecam tindakan pelaku adalah “mengerikan”. Di video yang diunggah Daily Mail terlihat hewan berkaki empat itu dipegangi oleh seorang pria yang mencekoki sebotol sampanye ke dalam mulutnya. Kuda itu sempat menghindar dengan menggerakkan kepalanya, tapi upayanya tidak cukup berhasil. Si pria lalu mencium hidung kuda saat para penonton bertepuk tangan dan bersorak.
Assaib dari Asosiasi Hewan Kepulauan Balearic berkata, “Orang bodoh ini membuat kuda pemenang Helen Llinaritx meminum sebotol sampanye.” “Kami telah mengajukan pengaduan resmi ke otoritas terkait atas penganiayaan hewan,” lanjutnya dikutip dari Daily Mail, Jumat (16/10/2020). Asosiasi itu dalam sebuah pernyataan menambahkan, “Kami ingin mengungkapkan amarah kami atas apa yang terjadi setelah Manacor Grand Prix.”
“Dari rekaman jelas bahwa Helen Llinaritx dipaksa minum sebotol sampanye, sementara orang-orang di sekitarnya menertawakan apa yang terjadi.” “Kami menilai contoh penganiayaan hewan secara terang-terangan ini mengerikan, dan itu menunjukkan bahwa orang ini tidak menghargai hewan.”
Kuda bisa jadi merupakan seekor hewan yang paling kharismatik dari kerajaan hewan. Dimana struktur anatomi kuda dan keterikatannya pada manusia yang menjadikan hewan ini sebagai simbol kekuatan, kepercayan, kebebasan, kecerdasan serta kesetiaan. Kuda pertama kali dimanfaatkan sebagai hewan tunggangan oleh suku-suku pengembara (Nomaden) di padang rumput dan gurun Asia Tengah dan Utara. Perananannya dalam berbagai kebudayaan berikutnya adalah sebagai hewan penarik. Mengapa kuda yang begitu berguna dan sangat setia kepada manusia ini, harus diperlakukan dengan tidak baik dan sewenang-wenang oleh pemiliknya? ini suatu perilaku manusia yang tidak berakhklak mulia.
