31 Orang Tewas Dalam Kerusuhan Dua Hari di Meksiko

[AkhirZaman.org] Sebanyak 31 orang tewas dan tujuh lainnya menderita luka tembak selama kerusuhan dua hari yang dipicu oleh penyelundupan narkoba di negara bagian Chihuahua menurut seorang juru bicara kejaksaan pada Sabtu waktu setempat.

Carlos Huerta, juru bicara kantor kejaksaan setempat, mengatakan kerusuhan pada Kamis dan Jumat tersebut terjadi karena serangan yang dilancarkan kartel Juarez dan Sinaloa yang saling bersaing.

Dari 31 kematian, 22 terjadi di Ciudad Juarez, tujuh di ibu kota negara bagian Chihuahua dan dua di Bocoyna menurut pihak berwenang. Di antara korban tewas ada empat perempuan dan tiga remaja berusia 14, 15 dan 17 tahun.

Lebih dari 250 personel polisi federal dikerahkan ke daerah itu pada Sabtu.

Sesaat sebelum serangkaian pembunuhan tersebut dimulai, Gubernur Negara Bagian Javier Corral mengatakan bahwa 2018 akan menjadi “tahun keamanan publik untuk Chihuahua” menurut siaran kantor berita AFP.

Kerusuhan bersenjata yang terpicu karena penyelundupan narkoba di negara bagian Chihuahua yang menewaskan nyawa puluhan orang sipil adalah sebuah kejahatan yang harus diselesaikan oleh pihak keamanan dengan lebih serius. Masyarakat setempat yang menjadi korban mungkin selama ini mereka mengetahui penyeludupan barang haram ini tidak berani melakukan perlawanan. Tapi karena sudah tidak tahan lagi karena kejahatan ini akhirnya masyarakat bertindak demi membela kebenaran bahkan harus korban nyawa mereka.
